Madison City Schools: Zone Maps, State Grades and Homes for Sale

Madison City Schools serves the city of Madison, on both the Madison County and Limestone County sides of town, and part of Triana. It is one of the main reasons buyers look at homes in Madison.

The district as a whole earned a A (95) on the 2024-25 Alabama state report card, up from an A (94) the year before. Madison City Schools adopted new attendance zones for the 2026-27 school year, when Russell Branch Elementary opened, so older listings and older maps may show the previous school for some streets.

Madison City does not publish its zones on the city GIS we use for our other zone maps, so the figures on these pages come from the school assigned on each Valley MLS listing. Use the district's school locator to confirm a specific address.

Questions about Madison City Schools

Is every Madison address in Madison City Schools?

Not always. Most addresses inside the Madison city limits are, but some homes with a Madison mailing address are outside the city and go to Madison County or Limestone County schools. Check the address, not the mailing city.

Which high school is a home zoned for?

Madison has two high schools, Bob Jones and James Clemens. Each school page shows which elementary and middle schools feed it, based on Valley MLS listings.

School grades: Alabama State Department of Education accountability reports for 2023-24 and 2024-25. Sales: Valley MLS, three years ending October 2026, by the school listed on each sale; a snapshot that does not update.
