Ask people why they love living in Huntsville and the outdoors comes up fast. The city sits in the Tennessee Valley with small mountains on three sides, and the Land Trust of North Alabama has spent decades protecting them, so there are free trailheads a few minutes from most neighborhoods. Add the Flint and Tennessee rivers, a growing greenway network, some of the oldest disc golf courses anywhere and a state park on top of Monte Sano, and you can be outside before or after work almost every day of the year.
